PM Modi’s Delhi Inaugurations: Key Traffic Updates
Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted that Friday would mark a significant milestone for Delhi’s development as he prepares to inaugurate several key projects. These include 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of JJ clusters, the World Trade Centre, and a CBSE office complex in Dwarka.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that today marks a significant step forward for Delhi’s development. Speaking about the program in Ashok Vihar, he mentioned that various development initiatives will be inaugurated and that foundation stones will be laid to enhance the ‘Ease of Living’ for Delhi’s residents. The projects include 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of JJ (Jhuggi Jhopri) clusters in Ashok Vihar, the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar, General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar, and the CBSE Integrated Office Complex at Dwarka.
Prime Minister Modi is poised to initiate three significant projects for Delhi University, with a total investment of ₹600 crore. These projects include the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar, the Western Campus at Dwarka, and the Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh, all equipped with modern facilities.
Traffic will be regulated on eight routes from 9 am to 4 pm on January 3, including:
- Mall Road: Hakikat Nagar to Azadpur Chowk
- GTK Road: Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio
- Bhamashah Marg: Model Town-1 to Nanak Pio
- Lala Achhintam & Brahma Kumari Marg: Gujranwala & Derawal areas
- Nahar Singh Marg: Prembari Chowk to Inderlok Metro
- Gulab Singh Marg: Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk
- Swami Narayan Marg: Delhi Jal Board to Laxmi Bai College
- Mahatma Gandhi Marg: Britannia Chowk to Azadpur
PM Modi will inaugurate the CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, a project valued at over₹300 crore, and lay the foundation for three new₹600 crore projects at Delhi University.
The naming of Veer Savarkar College, after the right-wing ideologue, has sparked a political debate between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Congress. The Congress has criticized the BJP, alleging it is “glorifying individuals who submitted mercy petitions to the British.
In response, the BJP, whose ideological roots lie in the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), accused the Congress of defining itself solely by “insulting great personalities.

Meanwhile, the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) is currently led by the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), affiliated with the Congress party.
