Zuckerberg criticizes Google and OpenAI’s focus on a single,  AI.

Zuckerberg disagrees with some in the tech industry trying to build one “super AI.” He thinks the future will be filled with many specialized AI tools, similar to how there are many different apps on the phone.

Zuckerberg argues for diverse AI tools, not a single super AI. He compares the idea to how people don’t use just one app, one content creator, or one store. He believes people will use specialized Artificial intelligence for specific tasks. While Meta has a central AI chatbot similar to competitors, they’re also developing many smaller, focused AIs. This aligns with their recent launch of Artificial Intelligence Studio, a tool for creating AI avatars that can interact with users on Instagram. These avatars are marked to avoid confusion.

Zuckerberg sees potential in creating feature-rich smart glasses without displays. He emphasizes that cameras, microphones, and their capabilities can deliver a great user experience at a lower cost compared to high-end virtual reality headsets.

Zuckerberg outlines a roadmap for smart glasses, from basic to futuristic. He sees three stages: simple glasses with built-in cameras and AI, followed by versions with head-up displays, and ultimately, full holographic displays. He goes beyond glasses, mentioning brain-controlled interfaces via wristbands. Importantly, Zuckerberg doesn’t view these as phone replacements, but rather as companions. He suggests using smart glasses for quick tasks while keeping phones for more complex ones, similar to how smartphones complement computers.
