Xiaomi Unveils Redmi A5: Feature-Rich Budget Smartphone
On April 15, 2025, Xiaomi launched the Redmi A5 in India, targeting entry-level users with a solid mix of features. The 4G smartphone comes with an IP52 rating for splash resistance and boasts a large 6.88-inch HD+ display, 120 120Hz refresh rate, and 600 nits peak brightness. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner adds to its convenience.

Under the hood, it runs on an octa-core Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage—expandable to a massive 2TB. Backed by a 5,200mAh battery and 15W charger, it ensures all-day usage. The device runs Android 15 and promises two years of software updates and four years of security patches.

In terms of photography, the Redmi A5 is equipped with a 32MP primary camera on the rear and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. It will hit the shelves starting April 16 across Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and leading retail stores nationwide.
