India allows Maldives to import set amounts of onions, rice, wheat flour, and sugar this year.<\/p>\n

Under a bilateral trade agreement, India lifted export controls on a set amount of eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, and lentils for the Maldives during the fiscal year.<\/p>\n

India allowed Maldives to import certain goods under a bilateral trade agreement for the current fiscal year (2024-25).<\/strong><\/p>\n

India’s trade department (DGFT) announced that Maldives can now import eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, lentils, crushed rock, and river sand without any export limitations for the rest of the fiscal year (2024-25).<\/p>\n

India typically restricts exports of these goods (eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, etc.) but has allowed Maldives to import specific quantities this year (2024-25). These quantities include potatoes (21,513 tonnes), onions (35,749 tonnes), rice (124,218 tonnes), and so on.<\/strong><\/p>\n
