International Youth Day is a day to celebrate and empower young people. It is a day to reflect on the challenges that young people face and to recognize their potential to make a difference in the world. Although International Youth Day is a United Nations-recognized day that is celebrated on August 12 each year, it is also a day to call to action for greater investment in young people and their inclusion in decision-making processes. The day celebrates and empowers young people.<\/p>\n

The UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Promotion of Peace and Understanding among Youth in 1965. This declaration aimed to support young leaders and provide them with resources to address global needs.<\/p>\n

In 1999, the UN General Assembly officially established this day based on a recommendation from the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth. Although, International Youth Day has since dedicated itself to educating society about the importance of youth participation, engaging young people in politics, and addressing global challenges.<\/p>\n

International Youth Day celebrates young people’s potential and demands action to address their challenges.<\/p>\n

The theme for International Youth Day 2023 is “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.” The UN: Young people can save the planet.<\/p>\n

People need green skills to live, work, and develop in a sustainable and resource-efficient society. Also, They include skills in areas such as renewable energy, environmental management, and climate change adaptation.<\/p>\n
