Evidence of corruption is being found in SSC teacher recruitment drive in the Mamta Banerjee government of West Bengal. The ED has recovered more than Rs.30 crores while raiding another flat of Arpita Mukherjee. She is known to be a close aide of former education and parliamentary affairs ministers Partha Chatterjee, who has also been arrested in the case.<\/p>\n

The findings of the raid were carried in a truck by the ED team in around 20 boxes. According to sources, a total of Rs 53.22 crore cash has been recovered from Arpita’s home so far.<\/p>\n

Along with Chatterjee, Arpita is also in ED Custody. Rs. 21 crores has been recovered from his residence. So far, more than Rs. 30 crores has been found in the raids conducted on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Arpita’s mother said –<\/h3>\n

I am surprised by Arpita’s exploits, I don’t know anything about all this.<\/p>\n

ED\u2019s estimation is that the scam is of 100 crores<\/h3>\n

ED estimated that the teacher recruitment scam may be more than 100 crores. On Wednesday morning, the ED team started raids at four known places of Arpita Mukherjee. Huge bundles of notes were recovered when the officers entered Arpita Mukherjee\u2019s Belgharia Flat. High ranking officials of ED also reached the spot immediately.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Rs 21 crore was recovered from Arpita’s Flat in Tollygunge. A total of Rs 53.22 crore cash has been received from Arpita’s whereabouts.<\/p>\n

Gold worth two crores also recovered<\/h3>\n

According to sources, gold worth about two crores has also been recovered from Arpita’s whereabouts.<\/p>\n

Interrogation of Partha Chatterjee, Arpita and Manik<\/h3>\n

ED officials on Wednesday conducted marathon questioning of Partha Chatterjee, his aide Arpita Mukherjee and Trinamool congress MLA Manik Bhattacharya at CGO complex in Kolkata. They were interrogated from morning till evening.<\/p>\n

According to sources, different teams interrogated these people separately. The ED has called Manik Bhattacharya for questioning at 12 am but they reached only at 9:44 PM. ED found a CD from Manik’s office which contains important information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
