Virtual G-20 summit : G-20 leaders convene virtually to address global challenges

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi assembled the Virtual G20 Leader’s Summit today, a summit of international figures across the G20 membership, joined by representatives from visiting countries as well as international organizations. The summit was primarily concerned with evaluating the advancement in executing the Delhi declaration, endorsed at the G20 Leader’s Summit in September 2023.  as well as tackling the emergence of unseen obstacles subsequently. Leaders emphasized the paramount significance of global collaboration in overcoming global hurdles and pledged their steadfast resolve to a global framework. Finance Minister commenced pleased with the findings of the virtual G20 summit, highlighting all five essential agenda topics and endorsing those participating as she accentuated the robust endorsement for revamping multilateral development banks, establishment of digital public infrastructure,  plan for crypto assets, sustainable finance, investing in green cities. As PM Narendra Modi highlighted the G-20 virtual summit, the unwavering dedication to the Delhi Declaration’s goals across different sectors. Observed the consensus among G20 members on several topics relevant to the situation in the West, such as absolute rejection of terrorism, unbearableness of civilian casualties, critical need for humanitarian relief, urgency for ceasefire, the heartening extrication of detainees, essentiality of two-state resolution and also the imperative for regional peace and security through discussion and understanding. Also engaged in discussion about potential deleterious consequences of artificial intelligence(AI) at the summit, urged for worldwide cooperation in formulating AI guidelines to lessen societal and individual harms by deep fake attacks and promoting the notion of maximizing AI’s transformative power while upholding or ensuring it’s ethical and prudent deployment.

Canadian Prime Minister participated in online conferencing with PM Modi, representing a step forward in reconciliation after a diplomatic standoff.  Premier Li Qiang represents China as President Xi Jinping is not expected to attend the summit.
