More than 200 million Twitter users account and their email address has been posted to an online hacking Forum, a security researcher said on 4 th January, Wednesday.
This contravention “will sadly lead to a large amount of hacking, aiming Email Phishing, clone phishing and doxing,” Alon Gal who is a co-founder of Israel’s cybersecurity monitoring company Hudson Rock, informed on LinkedIn.
He also told the incident as “one of the most significant leaks I have witnessed”. Until now Twitter has not said anything, which Gal first posted about on online platform on 24 th December, nor even responded to raise investigations about the contravention that day.
News association couldn’t separately verify that data on Forum was genuine and came from Twitter.
Hacker Forum’s screenshots that appeared on Wednesday, have spreader online. Maker of contravention notification site has checked the leaked data and informed Twitter that it looked “pretty much what it is been characterized as”.

There were no information received about the location of hackers behind the contravention. This could have happened in the year 2021 that was before Elon Musk became the owner of the Firm last year. Assertions about the violence and the scope of the contravention initially varied with early users account in December informing 400 million email accounts and mobile numbers were purloined.
The hackers can also use the email accounts to reset the passwords and take control on user’s account, especially those which are not protected by two- factor authentication. The data hacked can be used by hackers in political hacktivists and might harm our privacy . While more than 200 million published records ranks the largest contraventions anywhere, this is the most recent violation of security disasters at Twitter that took place after a decade.
