The 36 th National Games came to an impressive end at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Indoor stadium on 12 th October, Kerala’s Sajan Prakash and Hashika Ramachandra won Best Athlete awards on Wednesday.
The 29- years old swimmer Sajan Prakash won eight medals, also Five individual gold, two silver and one bronze, was awarded the best men’s sportsman of the games while Hashika Ramachandra won the best female
player.
Hashika a fourteen years old swimmer secured a total of seven medals, also six gold medals, this was her National Games India’s best sportsman and sportswomen participated from all 36 th states and Union Territories,
count up to over 8,000, took part in 36 sports disciplines to represent the games slogan : Judega India , Jeetega India.
Respected Vice- president Jagdeep Dhankhar handed out the desired Raja Bhalindra Singh Trophy to the hybrid contingent of services for the quarter time in sequence.
They won 61 Gold, 35 silver and 32 bronze to column over all the competitive teams. Maharashtra secured the Indian Olympic Association‘s Best state trophy as they accomplish second in the medals score with the bulk of medals amongst VTs and states.
Respected Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel handed over the best male Athlete to Sajan Prakash who secured 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 bronze. Srihari Nataraj secured 5 Gold and 2 Silver in National Games.
Talking about Karnataka’s Hashika Ramachandra, just a 14 years old girl, won the best female Athlete crown with 6 Gold and 1 Bronze. She received her price from respected Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
Tamil Nadu’s Rosie Meena Paulraj (women’s pole Vault) and Uttar Pradesh’s Ram babu (men’s 35km walk) and N Ajith (weightlifting) also created new records breaking the earlier records of National Games. Maharashtra achieved a total of 39 Gold, 38 Silver and 63 bronze and secured second ranks, Haryana also won 38 Gold, 38 Silver, 39 bronze and attained third position. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala finished fourth and sixth in the games. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Manipur achieved 20 gold each.
Goa Will Host National Games 2023
Goa will be seen hosting National Games 2023 as the Flag of the National Games was entrusted to Govind Gaude, Sports Minister of Goa.
