Politicians don’t have to reveal specific information about all their possessions, except if it affects how people vote: Supreme Court

on Tuesday the Supreme Court noted that voters don’t have an unlimited right to extensively investigate a candidate’s personal life and uncover every detail unless that information is directly relevant to their choice at the ballot box. Justices Bose and Kumar clarified that candidates aren’t required to reveal every item of movable property they or their family own, except for those with significant value that could influence voters’ decisions.

“Voters don’t have unlimited access to pry into every aspect of a candidate’s personal life. Any information revealed should be directly relevant to how voters decide who to elect.

” Despite this decision, the Court emphasized that it shouldn’t be seen as a universal rule. It only applies to this particular case’s specific details and situation.”
