Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving a public address in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, and a rally in Bastar, Chhattisgarh scheduled for Monday. He plans at least 10 rallies in the state. Mungantiwar was seeking re-election against Pratibha Dhanorkar, the Congress candidate and widow of the late Balu Dhanorkar.

These rallies targeted constituencies where the BJP anticipated a strong challenge from the opposition parties. Following his rally in Chandrapur, Maharashtra on April 1st, PM Modi was scheduled for another visit on April 14th to address a rally in Ramtek.
