Nothing Phone (3a) debuts March 4 with 50MP main & 3x zoom.
After multiple teasers on social media, Nothing officially announced today that the Phone (3a) series will be unveiled on March 4 at 10 AM GMT. Based on previous hints, the lineup is expected to feature two models—the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro. Along with the launch date, Nothing also confirmed key camera specifications and shared an image of the distinctive camera island, likely belonging to the Pro variant.
This Pro will come equipped with a quad-camera system consisting of a 50MP “Shake Free” OIS main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with a periscope setup, an 8MP ultrawide sensor from Sony, and a 50MP front camera.
The periscope lens is expected to offer 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and up to 60x “ultra” zoom, with a 70mm focal length as confirmed by Nothing.
Additionally, the main camera is set to receive a significant upgrade over the Nothing Phone (2a), featuring a larger 50MP sensor that captures 64% more light per pixel and boasts a 300% increase in full-well capacity compared to its predecessor.
Nothing further explains the concept of full well capacity in a video, where the unreleased Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is put to the test against the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in a camera shootout conducted in London.
This series introduces TrueLens Engine 3.0, which integrates upgraded hardware with AI-powered tone mapping and scene detection to deliver “professional-grade, true-to-life” imagery
