Nokia phone maker HMD Global plans to double its Indian exports to 4 million units within the next year and significantly expand domestic production. The company is positioning India as a global manufacturing and export hub for its Nokia and newly launched HMD-branded smartphones and feature phones. Aiming to capitalize on India’s large market and cost-effective production, HMD will invest in local operations and supply chain management to boost its market share ahead of the upcoming festive season.

HMD Global plans to significantly increase its smartphone production in India. Current production stands at 15-16 million units annually, with smartphones accounting for only 30% of this figure. The company aims to boost overall production by 30-40% next year while more than doubling the proportion of smartphones manufactured. To achieve this, HMD is expanding its partnership with Dixon Technologies and has also partnered with Zetwerk.
