A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Nepal at a depth of 5 km on October 3, 2023. Tremors were felt in parts of India, including the capital New Delhi and the surrounding regions. People rushed out of their homes and offices in parts of New Delhi, but there were no immediate reports of damage in India or Nepal.
The National Center for Seismology reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 29.39 degrees north latitude and 81.23 degrees east longitude in Nepal.
The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 5.6 earthquake in Nepal.

The depth of the second earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.2, was found to be 5 km.

Frank Hoogerbeets, a researcher at the Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS), said that atmospheric fluctuations observed in parts of and near Pakistan may be an “indicator of an upcoming stronger tremor.”
