Every year on 16 th January, India observes National Startup Day. PM Narendra Modi in the year 2021 announced this day as National Startup Day to commemorate the country’s startup ecosystem.
The sector for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and the Ministry of commerce and Industry has promulgated a whole week as National Startup week that starts from 10 th to 16 th January.
This year startup week includes awareness sharing meetings for entrepreneurs, or desiring to be entrepreneurs and many facilitator, entailing pertinent stakeholders from the startup ecosystem including Government officials, business accelerators, corporates and investors.
This day has a moto to engage startup ecosystem stakeholders across to stimulus the spirit of entrepreneurship and revolution in the country.
A plan of Action was revealed by PM Modi that consists of 19 action items spanning areas like ‘simplification and handholding ’, ‘ Monetary aid and initiatives’ and industry- academic association and growth.

Theme for National Startup Day 2023
There is no particularly chosen theme for this day, however the first day of the startup India Innovation Week added programs that involved a seminar or conference for “Founders of Today, leaders of Tomorrow”.
