The people of India celebrate National Sports Day on 29th of August. From the year 2021 till now, India has achieved many special achievements in the sports world. It started with winning a Test match at the Gabba. After this players of India performed well in the Olympics, Paralympics and commonwealth Games.
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the Olympics, while the women’s Lawn ball team surprised everyone by winning the gold medal in the commonwealth games. 1. When Neeraj Chopra become the reason for our pride
Neeraj Chopra brought laurels to the nation by winning a gold medal in Javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics. He became the first athlete to win gold in the Olympics. At the same time, he became the second Indian to win a gold medal in the single events. He makes history, becomes first Indian to win Diamond league.
2. India Won 61 medals in Commonwealth Games
India has been winning the most medals in this sport. In such a situation, there was a fear that this time the number of medals in India would be very less, but it did not happen. First Indian players did wonders in weightlifting, then got unexpected medals in lawn ball. In Athletics too, many players got medals which were less expected. In the end all 12 wrestlers won medals and India had a total of 61 medals.
3. Mirabai Chanu Created History
Mirabai Chanu created history by winning the silver medal on the second day of the Tokyo Olympics. She won a medal for India in weightlifting. Chanu was the first Athlete to win a medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics. After this, she also won the country’s first gold in the commonwealth games.
4. Won Test Match at Gabba
In early 2021, India defeated Australia at the Gabba. The Kangaroo team was defeated on this ground after 32 years. Team India chased the target of more than 300 in the fourth innings here add won.
5. Sunil Chhetri’s record in Football
India’s football team captain Sunil Chhetri overtook football legend Pele this year. He was scored 84 goals in International football, while Pele scored 77 goals.
6. Hockey team won medals in Olympics and Commonwealth games
Men’s hockey team won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. After 41 years, the Indian hockey team won a medal in the Olympics.
