Today (8th December 2022) the Unified Municipal Corporation (MCD) present full-fledged budget once again after 10 years. This budget has approved by state election commission (ESC).
Focal Point of Budget
The budget is mainly to focus on sanitation and education facility. Where Rs2,632.78 crore is decided for education; Rs4,153.28 crore for sanitation; Rs3,225.4 crore for general administration; Rs1,570.25 crore for public health and medical relief; Rs1,732.2 crore for public work and street lighting and Rs521.48 crore for gardening.
As per the sources Rs15,276 crore (approx.) budget is decided for the financial year 2023-24 which will excluded to Rs16 crores in next years.

After the notification of gazette in April, Commissioner and a Special Officer were appointed for the merged corporation on May’22. Later in July, the Commissioner presented a budget for the unified corporation for the remaining 2022-23 before the special officer with an estimate of Rs15,276 crores.
This will be the first full-fledged budget as of North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and East Delhi Municipal Corporation these three Municipal Corporations merged after the gap of 10 years.
The Commissioner will present the next financial year budget estimates and also revise the budget of 2022-23 before the special officer. However, the presentation of budget will be completed till 10th December. Though the budget presentation starts in December generally which will finalized in mid-February.
This budget will be discussed in various committees, after the commissioner present it, highlighted by opposition leader in house meeting and after the necessary modification it is concluded by leader.
According to the source budget of 2023 is similar as 2022.This will not include any scheme and no new tax will be imposed on people.
