Jailed Minister Sisodia and Jain Resigned from Delhi Cabinet – Ministries to be allocated to Kailash Gahlot and Raaj Kumar Anand

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Cabinet Satyendra Kumar Jain from Aam Aadmi Party resigned as ministers so as not to affect any continuing work in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said on Tuesday.

The ministries managed by Manish Sisodia are likely to be allocated to Kailash Gahlot and Raaj Kumar Anand. “National Capital has a small Cabinet. The CM has 6 ministers in his Cabinet and as everyone knows that their most crucial portfolios were with Deputy CM Sisodia and Minister of Cabinet Satyendra Jain”, said AAP representative Saurabh Bhardwaj in a press conference.

He kept saying that is why, to ensure that no continuing work is obstructed and people of National Capital do not confront any issue, they resigned from position. Also he condemned the BJP- led central government of planning a conspiracy to send two senior AAP ministers in Jail. In the absence of two senior leader, who were managing 18 of the total 33 ministries, their work are now likely to be distributed between ministers Kailash Gahlot and Raj Kumar Anand.

Now AAP’s Cabinet has 4 ministers – Gahlot, Anand, Gopal Rai and Imran Hussain and CM Arvind Kejriwal has not kept any ministry with himself.

Meanwhile, the news of resignations came hours after the court of last resort (supreme court) dismissed the bail plea of Jailed Minister on 26th February, Sisodia was detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in dealing with the claimed excise policy scam. Excise was included in the departments the Former Deputy CM of Delhi was taking core of on the other side, Jain has been in Jail since May last year, when he was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the many laundering case.

Although, he remained to his position and all his departments were given to Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.
