ITR Verification 2023: Complete this Work to Verify ITR before January 30

ITR Verification 2023: Income Tax Department has increases the date till 30th January for the tax payers to verify the ITR form. If you don’t complete the process on time, legal action or penalties will be charged.

The deadline has been provided to those tax payers who have filed belated ITR till 31st December, 2022.

The Department has given the notice to finish the process of verification before the last date.

As per the report presented by Ministry of finance, Indian Citizens whose income is between Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh per annum should file ITR. Simultaneously, this has been made obligatory and required for the tax payers who earns more than Rs 5 lakh per annum to file for ITR.

Let us tell you that the last date for filling the belated and revised ITR for the year 2022- 23 was 31st December, 2022.

As per information given by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), tax payers who have filed belated or revised ITR late till December 31st, 2022, need to go through the filed form for ITR to verify the provided information.

The tax payers have the option to verify the online ITR. The department has allowed the verification process till 30th January, 2023. In January, every tax payer have to Re- check the ITR anyhow or else a notice from the Income Tax Department can reach to their home.

What to do If ITR is not verified

  • If you do not complete the verification process within provided last date, your ITR will show invalid.
  • It is necessary to e-verify before allotted time period, checking all the information written in the ITR.
  • If you failed to verify the ITR before deadline it would result in income tax notices, and ITR department will take legal action or penalty.

You can verify your ITR by visiting the official website of Income Tax Department that is https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/Foportal and finish the process  by clicking the e-verify option.
