India won the ICC Women’s under -19 T20 World Cup, beating England by 7 wickets in the Final match, in Potchefstroom, South Africa on 29th January’2023, Sunday.
Chasing a score 69 to win, India Team lost the wickets of Verma (15) and Shweta Sehrawat too soon, however Gongadi (24) and Soumya Tiwari (24 without losing the wickets) stabilize the innings and leaded the team to triumph in 14 overs.
Shafali begun with a Hit wicket of Hannah Baker before launching Sophia Smale for a maximum. Although, Hannah Baker do away with the India’s skipper, having her wicket by Alexa Stonehouse in the 3rd over.
Shweta Sehrawat who was her opening player and woman team’s excellent batter in the T20 World cup, also lose her wicket with 20 runs on the score board in the 4th over.
Tiwari and Trisha did their partnership of 46- run. When only four runs needed, Trisha back in the hut, but Tiwari end the match by scoring the winning runs. Best pace bowler pace bowling is surely in right hands following the way out of Jhulan Goswami with quite well figure of 4- 0- 6- 2, also Parshavi Chopra snap 2 for 13, as England were all out for 68 in 17.1 overs.

The Indian women’s cricket team has never won this tournament. However, the seniors reached the World cup final three times but failed to secure the trophy.
This is the first time when India women’s team won the world cup trophy. It is a matter of pride for India.
