In a stunning all-round effort, India managed to thump England in the first ODI with a 10 – wicket win to start the 3 – match ODI series on Tuesday. Putting England to bat, the pace bowling pair of Bumrah (6/19 in 7.2 overs) & Shami (3/31 in 7 overs) wreaked havoc to bundle out England for 110 in 25.2 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma (76 not out) and Shikhar Dhawan (31 not out) then played unbeaten knocks as India chassed down the target in 18.4 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah took the best figures by an India bowler against England in ODIs and went on to win the Player of the Match. This was England’s lowest ODI total against India
