India and Kenya have solidified their bilateral relationship by expanding their cooperation in various domains, including agriculture, defense, commerce, energy, digital infrastructure, and healthcare.
India has extended a USD 250 million credit line to Kenya to facilitate the modernization of its agricultural sector. Additionally, both nations have inked five agreements that foster collaboration in diverse areas like sports, education, and digital solutions.
Furthermore, Kenya has extended an offer to allocate land to Indian companies and institutions for the cultivation of crops, including millet. This represents a pivotal development, given that millets are a nutritious and drought-resistant crop that could contribute to the enhancement of food security in Kenya.
Additionally, both countries have jointly unveiled a vision document to augment maritime engagement within the Indian Ocean region. This constitutes a significant step forward, considering the Indian Ocean’s role as a crucial trade route and its susceptibility to various security threats.
