In Maharashtra, No need of Transfer Certificate for admission in the schools

As per the Right to Education Act, 2009, under section 4 Transfer Certificate is not compulsory from the students for admission to the school. For the students who belongs from class 9 to class 10, all the details should be collected from past school. Previous school should provide all the information of the student within 7 days. Strict action will be taken for the school that force for TC for taking admission.

Deepak Kesarkar(School Education Minister ) said after covid cases fall down then also parents are having financial problem to pay fee. On Tuesday, circular has issued, for age verfication purpose school should depend on birth certificate for students(class 1 to 8). Under Right To Education Act students have the right to change his/her school from one to other whenever they want.

All the schools have directed to take admission in their school without insisting student’s parents for the transfer certificate.Last year in March also,High court of Bombay have directed all the private schools for allowing those students also to attend classes who have not paid the increased component of fees for the academic session 2020-21. In May month last year, state barred all the private unaided schools from increasing fees. Transfer Certificate is a document which is issued to the students when student leaves from one school to other. TC mentions if students have cleared all the his/her exam as well as fee.

Previously the main purpose of the transfer certificate is  to release student from one school or university to join other school or university. But now Transfer Certificate is no longer needed or mandatory for taking admission to other school.
