Government to Integrate the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)

The National Health Authority (NHA) is in the process to combine or integrate the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), according to central government official.

The main motive is to obtain digital health identification of CGHS benefit receivers and stockpile their digital health records, which will ensure urgent treatment to the poor people.

Till now more than 100 million health records have been linked to ABDM.

Let us inform you first time in 1954 CGHS introduced by the government with the moto to provide wide healthcare facilities to public sector employees and pensioners and also their dependent family members.

At present the schemes covers more than 4.1 million benefit receivers in 75 towns.

One government official said in the news that the central government is planning numerous new interventions in CGHS and are in the process of combining CGHS with Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission.

In this process the benefit receivers of CGHS number will be mapped with Ayushman Bharat number and digital linking of all health of beneficiaries will be stockpiled. Here, this process will become so easy for benefit receivers because they are less in number and they are enough educated to understand the entire process.

As you already know the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a 14- digit number that permits citizens to access and control their health medical records digitally.

It provides full medical history across healthcare providers with the people sharing associated health records with ABDM – registered medical care digitally.

In the upcoming times, beneficiary whose ID is linked with Aadhaar – based ABDA number can get all the facilities via the CGHS Health care centres.

In July 2022, The National Health Authority (NHA) pronounced expansion of its online health ecosystem by combining digital health applications.
