After the PM Gatishakti programme completes its one year, the government is now ready to set more highly aspiring and determined medium- term achievements for different infrastructure ministers.
As states in by the presentation prepared by the commerce and industry ministry on the set targets of Gatishakti, inspected by FE, the accumulating highways construction that is under the ministry of road transport and highways Ministry of road transport and highways department which now mainly focused to increase the goals to 2, 00,000 km by Financial Year 25 from 1, 41,190 km in last budgetary.
In the same ways, the freight stuffing by the railways will be increased to 1,600 million tonne in Financial Year 22.
The government now planning to raise numerous number of airports, water aerodromes and helicopters which comes under the UDAN Scheme, are earmarked to be raised to 220 by Financial Year 25 from 140 in Financial Year 22.
Also the cargo handling at ports will be increased to 1,759 million tonne per annum (MTPA) from 1,189 MTPA. It also includes the plan to work on the 20,000- km- long oil and gas pipeline network in India. This set target to
enlarge 34,500 km by Financial Year 25.
According to the presentation it also sets ambition to work on the new and renewable energy capacity which aims to increase to 225 gigawatts by Financial Year 25 from 87.7 gigawatts last budgetary. In the same way, the numerous number of panchayats is going to be attached to the Optical Fiber Cable which will increase to over 2, 60,000 from 1,75,827.
If the Gatishakti works accordingly, then it will facilitate numerous infrastructure Ministries and department to reach their international or calculated targets.

Checking the latest official data there are 393 infrastructure projects and each give rise to an investment of Rs 150 crore or exceeding. According to official sources, all large infrastructure projects of Rs 500 crore each and critical missing link activity (that routinely joins two or more main activity where no link presently subsists) they are now balanced under this action.
26 states in India have accommodated many different classifications of data with the Gatishakti portal, which is being used a lot by both the state and central government.

The PM Gatishakti National Master plan was an initiative introduced by PM Modi on October 13 last year. Under this plan, different sectors associate and help each other for a coordinated development of projects.
It focuses to break departmental depot and welcome more comprehensive and integrated planning and implementation of projects with a perspective to address the issues of multi- modal and last- mile connectivities.
