Get ready to meet the Edge 50 Ultra, the brand’s most premium phone coming soon to your shores.
This is a noteworthy move, as Motorola typically doesn’t bring their Ultra models to India. The phone launched globally recently, and now it’s gracing Indian shores. Get ready, Motorola fans in India! The company is bringing its top-of-the-line phone, the Edge 50 Ultra, to your country. This ultra-premium smartphone stands out with a unique real wooden back panel. The Edge 50 Ultra was just launched globally, and its arrival in India is a bit of a surprise since Motorola doesn’t usually release its Ultra models here.
Motorola is gearing up to launch its most powerful phone yet, the Edge 50 Ultra, in India. While an exact date is still under wraps, the phone’s arrival has been confirmed. This is a significant move for Motorola as they typically don’t bring their Ultra models to India.
The Edge 50 Ultra boasts top-of-the-line specs, including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which is comparable to the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. You can expect smooth performance on par with the Poco F6, which uses the same chip and is priced at Rs 29,999. The Edge 50 Ultra will likely cost more due to its premium features, but the exact price hasn’t been revealed yet. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro, a mid-range option, was previously launched at Rs 31,999, so expect the Ultra model to be priced significantly higher.
The Ultra boasts a large 6.7-inch OLED display with a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate for a great viewing experience. It’s built tough with an IP68 rating, meaning it can survive splashes, spills, and even a dunk in water.
Charging and Battery:
Motorola keeps you powered up with support for both blazing-fast 125W wired charging and convenient 50W wireless charging. The phone packs a decent 4,500mAh battery to keep you going throughout the day.
Camera System:
Photography enthusiasts will love the triple-camera system on the back: A sharp 50-megapixel main sensor with image stabilization for stunning photos. A powerful 64-megapixel telephoto lens with image stabilization for capturing distant details. Also, a versatile 50-megapixel ultrawide lens that also doubles as a macro lens for close-up shots.
Performance and Software:
The Edge 50 Ultra is a powerhouse with the latest Android 14 operating system. Under the hood, you’ll find the mighty Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip for top-notch performance, backed by up to a whopping 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM for smooth multitasking. Storage won’t be a concern either, with options for up to a massive 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Price and Competition:
While the European price translates to a hefty Rs 88,870, Motorola is unlikely to launch it that high in India. Flagship phones with similar features typically come with the even faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip at that price point. A more realistic expectation is a price range between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000. In this range, it will compete with devices like the iQOO 12 (powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) and the OnePlus 12R.
Motorola’s pricing strategy and unique features will be key factors in whether it can stand out in this crowded market.
