G20 Summit to Cause Traffic Disruptions, 160 Flights Canceled in Delhi
Approximately 80 domestic flights have been canceled from September 8 to 10 due to the G20 Summit, according to a spokesperson for Delhi’s IGI Airport.”
“Due to the G20 Summit, airlines have requested to cancel a total of 160 domestic flights (80 departing and 80 arriving) from Delhi airport from September 8 to 10.
“The G20 Summit, which will be held in New Delhi from September 8 to 10, has caused the cancellation of approximately 80 domestic flights from the city’s IGI Airport.”
“The airlines made the decision to cancel the flights, possibly because of the traffic restrictions that will be in place during this summit .
The G20 Summit, a major international event that will be attended by leaders from 20 countries, will be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. The summit is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions in the city, including the cancellation of 160 domestic flights.”

The Delhi Police has announced that road travel to the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) will be affected from September 8 to 10 due to the G20 Summit. The police has advised residents to use the Delhi Metro’s Airport Line for smooth and hassle-free travel.
If you must travel to the airport by road, the police has asked you to make travel plans with sufficient time in hand.

As part of the preparations for the G20 Summit, the Delhi Police will also deploy tourist police vehicles at 21 locations in the city, including railway stations, airport terminals, ISBTs, samadhis, popular markets, and monuments such as the Red Fort, Akshardham, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, and Humayun’s Tomb. Around 400 police personnel who have been specifically trained for this purpose will be deployed in these vehicles.
