Fujifilm Introduces X-HF1: A Compact Camera Blending Retro Charm with Modern Features
Fujifilm has launched its latest entry in the X-series lineup—the X Half (X-HF1)—a compact digital camera designed to deliver a film-like photography experience in a modern, portable form. Optimized for content creators, the camera defaults to a 3:4 vertical image format, making it ideal for social media posts. It also includes various creative filters to replicate the feel of classic film, offering an intuitive shooting process that allows users to stay focused on their subject.

This compact camera features a 32mm f/2.8 fixed lens paired with a three-blade aperture, producing rich, detailed images. Autofocus is powered by contrast detection and includes face and eye recognition, while its internal lens setup consists of six elements, including three aspherical ones. Users can take creative control using the manual focus ring, and the reverse Galilean optical viewfinder enhances the retro feel. A unique film advance lever mimics traditional film camera operation when used in Film Camera mode.

The X-HF1 is built around a 17.74 MP 1-inch CMOS sensor, offering an ISO range from 200 to 12,800 and shutter speed flexibility from 1/2000 second to 15 minutes. While there is no built-in stabilization, a compact flash is included for lighting support.

Images are saved in JPEG format, and users can merge two vertical shots into one composite image. Video recording is supported at 1080 x 1440 resolution, ranging from 24 to 48 fps, and files are saved in H.264 MP4 format. It also allows combining two clips—or a clip and a photo—into a single 2160 x 1440 video. Media can be stored on SDXC memory cards up to 2 TB. For previews and menu navigation, the camera has a 2.4-inch 4:3 TFT LCD screen with 920,000 dots.
