Benefits of This Scheme

Medical benefits: Sickness benefits (SB):  extended sickness benefits (ESB) initially there was a period of 124 days Sickness. Benefits which is now extended to 309 days in chronic suitable cases.  ESIC provides proper medical benefits to the secured persons and family members included in card Covered proper curative services. He/ she get reasonable medicine care till they remain in insurable employment.

Maternity benefit (MB): Temporary disablement benefit (TDB) and permanent disablement benefit (PDB). In case of miscarriage ESIC provide maternity leave and 12 weeks for commissioning mother and adopting mother.

Dependent’s benefit (DB): Funeral expenses and confinement expenses If death occurred due to occupational hazards or injury where 90% of wage as monthly payment to the dependents of a dead insured person by DB.

Unemployment allowance:  During the lifetime up to two years of maximum period of wage is given at the rate of 50 %.

Disablement benefit:  In the form of monthly payment 90% of wage is paid in case of employment injury or certified by medical board so as long disability continues.

Sickness benefit:  The rate of 70% average of daily wages is given to insured person for 91 days in 2 consecutive beneficial periods.

Extended sickness benefit is a period of 124 days of two years. On medical advice it may be extended up to two years.
