E-Shram Yojana : Check Eligibility, Objective and Process to Apply

E-Shram Yojana was launched on 26th August, 2021. This Scheme was launched by The Ministry of Labour and Employment. E-Shram Portal has been developed by the Central Government to collect data at the Central level of an unorganized workers such as migrant workers, domestic helper, street vendors, handicraft workers, agricultural Labour, barbers etc.

Eligibility

  • Any employee who is disordered and aged between 16- 59, is eligible to apply for government scheme e- shram yojana.

Main Objectives of E-Shram Scheme:

• E-Shram Scheme aim is to improve the social security services for unorganized sectors.

• Central Government has developed E-Shram Portal for unorganized workers to register and link their Aadhar Number, so that Government has their registered data.

• Through PMSBM (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana), after registration government can give accidental insurance cover of 2 lakh.

• Helping unorganized workers to get direct benefits from this portal by developing their skills and finding employment opportunities by tracking them.

• This portal is also beneficial for unorganized sectors in Pandemic situations (example- Coronavirus) or any emergency situations.

E-Shram Card:

Ministry of Labour and Employment is preparing a National Database of unorganized workers. Workers can register on the E-Shram Portal and can issue E-Shram Card. On the Card there will be 12-digit UAN (Universal Account
Number). UAN number is a permanent number. Once it is assigned it will be remained unchanged for the worker’s lifetime.

Benefits of E-Shram Yojana

  • The Scheme works as a centralized database of disordered employees seeded with Aadhaar. If  workers register for the Yojana they will get an accidental insurance of two lakhs under PMSBY.

Documents required for UAN Card:

Mandatory Documents:

• EKYC

• Bank Account Number

• Mobile Number

Optional Documents:

• Certificate of Education

• Business Certificate

• Skill Certificate

Registration in E-Shram Portal:

1. Click on Official website Eshram.Gov.In

2. Click on Registration on e-shram.

3. Fill the Self registration form and enter the mobile number which has been linked with the Aadhar Card.

4. After Registration you will receive OTP on your mobile number. Enter that OTP to proceed further process.

5. Now you will have to fill your details mentioned below:

• Personal Information
• Address
• Education Qualification
• Occupation
• Bank Details
• Preview Self-Declaration
• UAN Card download and print.

After completing all the required information you can download UAN Card for further use whenever needed.
