During Traffic Awareness Month (Nov, 2022) Noida Police has issued almost 30,000 e-challans

Noida Police has issued 39,765 e-challans for violation of the traffic rules which includes air pollution, driving without having license and for many more other traffic rules in November month of this year.Total amount of Rs 16,59,800 have been collected from the e-challans and this amount have been deposited in the stage treasury as per police statement.

According to the police data , in Gautam Buddha Nagar district (District of Uttar Pradesh), minimum 354 people have lost their lives in the road accidents in this year covering Noida and Greater Noida both .From January till November month, Police have generated 5,26,109 e-challans and have collected Rs 2,87,65,900 for violating traffic rules.

Ganesh Saha who is Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Department) have said major public outreach programmes have been conducted in the November month as part of initiative during ‘Traffic Awareness Month’(November,2022).Ganesh Saha have said, “Hundreds of people, including children and youth, were made aware of traffic rules and road safety through short videos as well as street plays”

What is an E-Challan?

An E challan is a digital document which tells us the details of traffic violation done by a person, along with the penalty amount that needs to be paid by the person. For increasing transparency within the system, e-challan has been introduced, so that it will ensure that citizen don’t rely on the bribes taken by traffic police and to receive a formal challan for violating the traffic rules.For generating the challan on spot whenever any person violates the traffic rules, specific swiping machine have been given to traffic cops.

How to check the status of E-Challan?

For checking the status of your e-challan, one have to follow below steps:

  • First visit the official-website of e-challan.
  • Now, click on the Check challan status option from menu bar.
  • Pop-up will be open and now you have to choose from options.
  • There are three options DL number, challan number and vehicle number.
  • Now you need to enter the relevant details.
  • Again a new window will open which will display the information you seek.
