The temperature in Delhi this morning hovered around 7 degree Celsius Dense fog was observed as cold wave continues in the National Capital, various parts such as Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand noted dense to very dense mist environment as a cold wave swept through North India.
According to the reports provided by India Meteorological Department cold day whether very probably in Delhi’s parts such as Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana and West Rajasthan and Cold environment in part of Uttarakhand on 27 th December, 2022.
National capital’s air quality will be interrupted and continue to remain in ‘very poor’ category during the next 2 days. National capital airport authorities, updated the morning report, said that while landing and lift offs continue, flights not furnished for low visibility functioning may get impacted that is why the authorities have already informed passengers to stay in contact with their facility providers for updated details on flight schedule.

The IMD informed a colder air in parts of Delhi, where the minimum temperature is 4.5 notches or more below the usual standard and the maximum temperature settled at 16.2 degrees Celsius. The temperature dropped to 3 degree Celsius in the raised or elevated part area, 4.9 degree Celsius below normal, making it the most colder place in Delhi.
Also, the Aya Nagar weather report noted a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degree Celsius below normal. Dense fog reported in some parts of Delhi Region, North Rajasthan, Punjab, West UP, and Haryana. The same mist environment will remain in these places over the next two days.
According to the IMD, “very dense” Fog is when a person can see between 0 and 50 meters, 51 and 200 meters is comes in dense condition, 201 and 500 is “moderate” and 501 and 1000 is considered “simplistic and shallow”.
In the low land, colder air in the minimum temperature dips 4 degree Celsius. A cold wave is also reported when the environments minimum temperature is recorded 10 degrees Celsius or less and is 4.5 notches below ordinary. A “severe” when the minimum temperature drops to 2 degree Celsius or the removal from ordinary is more than 6.4 degree Celsius.
