Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary died of a heart attack during Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab’s Phillaur on Saturday morning. The MP was 76.
Congress Party’s Member of Parliament from Jalandhar, collapsed during the Foot March. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital in Phagwara in an ambulance van, where he declared dead. Bharat Jodo Yatra leader, Rahul Gandhi hurriedly run to the hospital leaving the Foot March in middle, a party leader said. Also the leader will visit Mr. Chaudhary’s Family at his place in Jalandhar today.
The Yatra that was going on has now been suspended. In Punjab Congress Party’s enormous Foot March started on 11 th January, Wednesday from Fatehgarh Sahib.
