Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA-elect Rekha Gupta, representing Shalimar Bagh, was sworn in as Delhi’s fourth female chief minister on Thursday in a grand ceremony at Ramlila Ground. The BJP returned to Delhi after 27 years, securing 48 out of 70 assembly seats.

Along with Rekha Gupta, BJP leaders Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Raviraj Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh also took oaths as cabinet ministers.

As her first key initiative, Gupta announced that eligible women would receive their first ₹2,500 monthly installment in their bank accounts by March 8 under the Mahila Samridhi Yojana.

Highlights of the Swearing-In Ceremony:
The ceremony was held from 11 AM to 1 PM, with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administering the oath to the new chief minister and ministers.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, several BJP chief ministers, and other party leaders.
Over 25,000 security personnel and 15 paramilitary companies were deployed across Delhi.
Delhi Police stationed commandos, quick reaction teams, PCR vans, and SWAT units at key locations, with snipers positioned on high-rise buildings for enhanced security.
