Today, Due to high- levels of air pollution, the chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has assembled a meeting at noon to discuss the city’s air pollution and the reason behind it and also to take some measures to combat it as this leads to explosive levels. Gopal Rai Delhi’s Environment Minister will also attend this with their related agencies.
With the rise in pollution, the government of Delhi has prolonged the closure of all schools maximum to class v till November 10. In which Classes 6 to 12 are still open but they can swap to online classes if required.
Delhi continued stifled by thick layers of toxic smog especially today, as doctors and specialists are more concerned because this can lead to respiratory problems and eye infections. The diminutive PM2.5 particles presence can enter into the lungs and cause major health ailments, during the past few days this made it to eight times the government’s safe limit of 60 micrograms per cubic meter in many areas of Delhi – NCR, which was estimated to be 80 -100 times above the WHO (World Health Organization) safe limit of 5 micrograms per cubic meter.
This GRAP differs into four phases of air quality management created by the CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board ). Stage IV is concluded as the most critical stage, is sparked when the AQI (Air Quality Index) is higher than 450 or in the category of “Sever Plus”.
The Central government has also applied the GRAP ( Graded Response Action Plan) at its top level in Delhi -NCR and nearby cities, in which the quality of air goes to the “Severe Plus” category.
Compared with the last years Delhi has considered the terrible air quality. The report presented by the University of Chicago proved that air quality reduces the quality of life and determines the life expectancy by 12 years.
Construction and tearing down activities in Delhi, Comprising of public or infrastructural development projects such as making roads, buildings, and bridges are still postponed till the next order. Central governments are advising to permit private, public, and municipal corporations to function with half percent of their staff members working from home.

To solve the condition of severe air pollution, the GRAP took measures such as there is a ban on trucks from entering Delhi, apart from enduring essential goods and services, necessities or driven by CNG, LNG, and electricity. Solely CNG, Electric, and BS-VI diesel light commercial vehicles (LCVs) enrolled in external Delhi are permitted to enter the city with equal exceptions.
