In the year 2018, the central government introduced Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Moto was the same to provide benefits to deprived section and the poor with the help of the card of Ayushman Bharat which is a one- stop health insurance cover scheme to cover a large population across the
country.

Changes in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana
1. This scheme got a new name: – Now Ayushman Bharat scheme named as Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. This shows the taking part of the states. Along with the Central government, the state governments will also do lettering or branding of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. In view of the co- branding of both,
the name has been changed.
2. The logo of card also changed: – Seeing the partnership of both the center and the state, the logo of Ayushman Bharat Yojana now also include the logo of the state along with the center.
3. Transgender can also take advantage of this scheme: – The agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to provide 5 lacks to individual transgender. There are about 4 lakh 89 thousand transgender in the country who can now get the Ayushman Bharat Card.
Methods to Apply
- First checked your eligibility by visiting the official website https://pmjay.gov.in
- You will have to go to the nearest public service center with your required documents.
- The agent at the Jan Seva Kendra will verify your necessary documents and apply for the scheme.
- After this you get a registration number from Jan Seva Kendra.
- Within 10 to 15 days of registration you will get Ayushman Golden Card.
- With this card, one can get Rs 5 lakh in hospital treatments.
