The Central Government has made few changes in the eligibility rules for Atal Pension Yojana a short time ago.
The Government made announcement of the new rules and has said that people who are paying income tax will no longer take advantages of this scheme. However, the new rules have not yet come into force.
But if they want to take advantage of this, they need to invest in this scheme immediately because the central government is going to bring new rules which will be mandatory for the ones who wants to invest in Atal pension Yojana from 1st October 2022.
It was first launched by the government on 9th May 2015 keeping in mind for the people who work in the in organized sectors. As this scheme (Atal pension Yojana) can be available through any bank or post office in India.
Under this scheme, the subscriber of this pension of Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 every month when they attain the age of 60 years. It actually depends on the subscriber contribution.
New Rules will be effective from October 1, 2022
As already told you that Atal Pension Yojana will come into force from October 1st, 2022. Before this date, all the income tax payers of the country can invest in this Yojana so that they continue to get the benefits of this scheme. The current rule is for any Indian citizens between the age of 18 years to 40 years who join the pension scheme of the government, regardless of the fact that whether he pays income tax or not.
Under this scheme subscriber of Atal Pension Yojana have to deposit Rs 42 to get monthly pension of Rs 1000 and Rs 84 to get 2000 monthly pension, Rs 126 to get Rs 3000 and Rs 168 per month for pension of Rs 4000.
Subscriber Account will be closed
According to the notification of the government, after the mentioned date the new rules will be implemented, if a tax payer applies for Atal Pension Yojana, then his account will be closed. Such persons will be given the pension money deposited till the date of closure of Atal Pension Yojana account.
