Amazon’s Eero has been quiet for a while, but now it’s back with two new Wi-Fi routers for home use: the Eero 7 and the Eero Pro 7, each with its own tagline. The Eero 7 is the more affordable option, starting at $170 for a single unit, while the Eero Pro 7 is designed for high-demand households and businesses, priced at $300. It’s ideal for spaces where content creation thrives—think TikTok houses (if those still exist).

The Eero 7 serves as the entry-level model in Amazon’s networking lineup. It’s a dual-band router supporting 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, offering wireless speeds of up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds reaching 2.3 Gbps via a compatible Ethernet cable. Amazon highlights its compact design, making it easy to place on bookshelves, entertainment units, or desks. The Eero 7 is designed for various spaces, with a single unit covering up to 2,000 square feet, while a three-pack expands coverage to 6,000 square feet for around $350.

For those with heavier internet needs, the Eero Pro 7 steps up. It’s a tri-band router that supports 2.5 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz connections, delivering wireless speeds of up to 3.9 Gbps. This model is tailored for multi-gigabit internet users, making it a strong fit for large homes or businesses—particularly those accommodating multiple content creators who rely on fast, reliable internet.

The Eero 7 and Eero Pro 7 are the latest additions to Amazon’s networking lineup, joining the previously released Eero Max 7 and Eero Outdoor 7—yes, that’s its actual name—which debuted in 2023. Back then, the landscape was quite different. WiFi 7 was still in its early stages, WiFi 6 was still being adopted, and WiFi 6E was only beginning to gain traction.

Is it the right time to upgrade to WiFi 7? That depends on your internet needs. WiFi 7 improves latency, enhances the ability to manage multiple connections across different bands simultaneously, and increases the number of concurrent streams it can handle. This makes it particularly useful for high-demand environments, like content creator houses—though that may not have been Amazon’s original intent. Still, with its competitive pricing, the Eero 7 is likely to find its way into such spaces. The new routers will be available for purchase next week.
