Samsung Launches One UI 8 Beta on Galaxy Foldables.
Samsung’s One UI 8 beta introduces a smart AI assistant for seamless Galaxy device experiences.
One UI is Samsung’s unified software interface created to simplify daily tasks and improve user productivity. Developed in close partnership with Google, One UI 8 will first launch on Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones this summer and will gradually be made available on more Galaxy models, offering users a more tailored and enhanced Android experience.
Samsung and Google worked closely together, sharing design insights and feedback instantly, accelerating the development process and enabling One UI 8 to be among the first interfaces to launch with Android 16.
In addition to launching alongside new foldable devices, One UI 8 introduces major updates in user experience and AI capabilities, setting the pace for Samsung’s software innovation. The beta program starts today for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra users in select regions, including Germany, Korea, the UK, and the US.
Tailored AI for Smooth, Natural Interactions
With the launch of One UI 8, Samsung is set to deliver an AI experience that enhances daily life by making interactions smarter and more intuitive. Building on the AI tools introduced in the Galaxy S25 series, this update focuses on three core elements: multimodal AI capabilities, device-specific user interfaces, and personalized, proactive assistance. The intelligent multimodal AI allows you to communicate naturally with your device, understanding what you’re viewing or doing in real time. The redesigned user experience is customized for the diverse range of Galaxy devices, improving productivity and ease of use. One UI 8 also adapts to your context, offering timely, personalized recommendations that fit your lifestyle. Features like Now Bar and Now Brief provide curated insights and suggestions to keep you organized and efficient throughout the day.
This powerful AI functionality is secured by Samsung Knox Vault, which isolates sensitive data using a dedicated secure processor and memory, protecting your personal information from unauthorized access. Additionally, One UI 8 offers options to process AI data directly on your device, enhancing privacy while combining cloud and local computing. Transparency and user control remain priorities, ensuring a personalized AI experience without compromising data security.
Everyday Convenience, Enhanced
One UI 8 goes beyond AI by introducing intuitive features that simplify your daily interactions. Auracast, a new Bluetooth LE Audio-based broadcast technology, enables effortless sharing of audio streams via QR codes, allowing multiple compatible devices, like Galaxy Buds and hearing aids, to connect easily without complicated setups. Support services also become more seamless, with QR and NFC-enabled registration via Samsung Account, which speeds up repairs by reducing paperwork and wait times.
The Reminder app is also improved to assist with travel and daily tasks. Whether planning a family trip or managing errands, you can view and organize reminders effortlessly, share lists instantly, and use voice commands to add notes hands-free when your hands are full.
