At the CISF Day event held at the newly renamed Rajaditya Chola Recruits Training Centre in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah urged Chief Minister M K Stalin to introduce Tamil-medium medical and engineering courses in the state.

Shah’s remarks come amid Stalin’s criticism of the central government over alleged “Hindi imposition” under the three-language policy. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had earlier stated that Tamil Nadu must implement this policy to receive ₹2,152 crore in education funds.

Highlighting Tamil Nadu’s significant contributions to India’s administrative, spiritual, and educational advancements, Shah emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in enabling CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) exams in Tamil. He called on the state government to extend Tamil-medium education to higher levels, particularly in professional courses like MBBS and engineering.
