Apple’s new iPad mini could be coming by year’s end

After unveiling the top-of-the-line iPad Pro and the impressive iPad Air, everyone’s waiting to see what Apple has in store for the beloved iPad mini.

Rumors suggest a new iPad mini with significant improvements is on the way by year’s end. The last major update to the mini line came in 2021, leaving fans eager for a refresh.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo both suggest Apple will launch a new iPad mini by year’s end. This exciting prospect comes with rumors of significant upgrades, including a much-needed display improvement.

The current iPad mini has been criticized for “jelly scrolling,” an issue where half the screen refreshes slower than the other, causing a wobbly effect. This problem has even led to lawsuits claiming the device is unusable.

Apple is tackling the jelly scrolling issue that plagued the previous iPad mini with a display upgrade. However, don’t expect a complete overhaul just yet. We’ll likely still see the familiar LCD technology and 60Hz refresh rate. While this might disappoint some hoping for OLED or a smoother refresh rate, fixing the jelly scrolling is a big win for usability.

Speaking of performance, the wait for a new iPad mini is expected to be rewarded with a significant boost. The current A15 Bionic chip is likely to be replaced by the powerful A17 chip.

Connectivity is also getting an upgrade with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, offering users faster and more reliable connections.

The upgrades don’t stop there! The new iPad mini might come dressed to impress with a wider range of colors, adding a pop of personality to the existing sleek design. While the current options include purple, starlight, pink, and space gray, rumors suggest exciting new hues are on the horizon.

Apple might also be giving the iPad mini’s camera a boost for improved photo and video quality, but specifics remain shrouded in secrecy for now.
