China encourage India and Maldives to maintain open communication

Rejecting accusations of exclusivity, China advised India to embrace its increasing cooperation with South Asian nations such as Maldives, suggesting it won’t undermine India’s interests.

Global Times, a state-run Chinese media outlet, encouraged India to view China’s presence in Maldives as an opportunity for collaboration, not competition.

Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, known for his pro-China stance, embarked on a five-day state visit to China this week, further strengthening the two nation’s ties. The President and his wife, First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, received a warm welcome from senior Chinese officials upon their arrival, highlighting the close relationship between the countries.
