Noida, Delhi and Gurugram stifle on Severe Air Pollution ,Despite Winter Action Plan

Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram are undergoing severe air pollution , with the Air Quality Index (AQI) ranging from 221 to 341. This has apprehensive residents of the NCR( National Capital Region).  Even though a 15-point winter action plan to lessen pollution, the air quality continues to deteriorate.

Although efforts like “Red Light on , Gaadi off” to lessen pollution from biomass burning and vehicles, the air quality in the region is probably to stay “Extremely  Poor ” from October 29 to 31, 2023.

This Sunday morning, the quality of air in Delhi was noted at 309, which is categorized as “Very Poor”. Based o to SAFAR- India, the air quality in the DU (Delhi University) area and IIT Delhi area was also marked as ” Extremely poor” on a scale of 341 and 300 respectively.

In the Lodhi Road area, the quality of air was estimated at 262 which is known as ” Poor quality”. IMD ( India Meteorological Department), in its announcement on Delhi’s air quality, predicts that the main surface wind in Delhi on October 29 is about to happen from changing directions, with wind speeds of 4 to 8 kilometers per hour. This is anticipated to outcome in mainly clear skiers and fog in the morning.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi region and Mathura Road area also estimated “Extremely Poor” air quality, with AQI scores of 300 and 228, respectively. Air quality at the Airport (T3) was in the “Extremely Poor” type, with an AQI score of 323.

Gurugram and Noida also estimated poor air quality, with AQI scores of 317 and 221, respectively. On Friday, Gopal Rai Delhi’s Environment Minister stated that a 15-point winter action plan is being put into effect to lessen pollution from biomass burning, vehicles, dirt, and other alternative sources.

Delhi Minister stated that vehicles are a primary cause of pollution, so they commenced the ” Red Light on, Gaadi Off” campaign on Thursday. The data indicates that this campaign has lessened PM10 levels, but PM2.5 levels are growing.

Delhi Minister said that this “Red Light on, Gaadi Off” campaign goals to lessen pollution from biomass burning and vehicles, which are growing rapidly. The Air Quality and Weather Bulleting for Delhi predicts “Extremely Poor” air quality from Oct. 29 to 31, this year.
