Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt Dead at 36
Bray Wyatt, former WWE champion and one of the most popular wrestlers of his generation, has died at the age of 36.
The news of Wyatt’s death was announced by WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque on August 24, 2023. Levesque said that he had received a call from Wyatt’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda, who informed him that Wyatt had “unexpectedly passed away earlier today.”
Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, was born in Brooksville, Florida, in 1987. He began his wrestling career in 2009 and signed with WWE in 2012. He quickly rose through the ranks of WWE’s developmental system, NXT, and made his main roster debut in 2013.
Wyatt was known for his unique character and his ability to tell stories in the ring. He was also a two-time WWE champion, winning the WWE Championship in 2017 and the Universal Championship in 2019.
