Northeast Assembly Election 2023: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) was remained over the majority mark of since yesterday morning in CM Manik Saha – led Tripura, while party has opened the account in Tripura and Nagaland.
Although, BJP also looked at the next steps if it fail to meet the majority in Tripura state. The BJP’s national leadership is also considering every options in Meghalaya, the state where the party looks to secure even a single seat, on the other hand the National People’s Party (NPP) has secured two seats, as per the reports of Election Commission of the country.
Nagaland and Meghalaya went through state assembly elections on 27th February. Whereas, Tripura voted for a new state government on 16th February. A sum of total of 89.95% of all the voters appeared up for voting in Tripura state.

Whereas, Nagaland recorded 84% of the registered voters turnout and the state Meghalaya recorded 76.27% voter turnout. A sum total of 352 competitor contested 59 seats each, both in Meghalaya and Nagaland.
According to the exit poll numbers for the three states, Bhartiya Janata party is all prepared to retain its power in Tripura and again back to Nagaland, most likely with an alliance and enhance its power in Meghalaya state. The congress is expected to lose power in all three states, say exit polls.
In Tripura state, winning party coalition is expected to secure 36 seats, on the other hand the left front will remain limited only to 6-11 seats, as per the data of Axis My India exit polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the win expressed his motive to empower women via various Flagship schemes, ensuring the empowerment of the women in Northeast.
