DigiYatra App: The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) and Digi Yatra Foundation have introduced the Digi Yatra app. This app aims to skip the airport Hassle Boarding at these Airport in India.
The system makes the airport check in process digital and computerized. Digi Yatra permits passengers to enter the airport using Facial identification technology.
Service Available in these Airport in India
The Digi Yatra is now available at 3 airports-
- Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi
- Kempegowda International Airport, Varanasi.
Also the Digi Yatra is all set to implement the services at Kolkata, Vijayawada, Pune and Hyderabad airports by March this year.
Digi Yatra is a free application and can be installed from play store. After this one has to link one’s ID credentials using DigiLocker or Aadhaar then, need to upload the photo of user. A Digi Yatra ID will be generated that one has to share which buying the tickets.

Enrolment Process of Digi Yatra
Step 1. Install the Digi Yatra APP from play store, use phone number and OTP (Aadhaar linked phone Number) to register.
Step 2. Link your valid ID credentials using DigiLocker or Aadhaar (XML File must be uploaded when using Aadhaar).
Step 3. Take a selfie photo when asked and upload it.
Step 4. Update the Boarding Pass on the application and do share with the departure airport.
Remember these Steps at the Airport
Step 1. At Departure
- At the check- in Counter (E- Gate), Passenger need to scan his Boarding Pass.
- Face scanning process.
- The E- Gate will open for the passenger to enter the Terminal.
Step 2. At Pre- Security Digi Yatra E- Gate
- Walkup to its E- Gate for the security assurance.
- Passenger needs to look in the camera on the DigiYatra E- Gate.
- After affirmation the E-Gate will open, then get moving towards the Boarding Gate.
Step 3. At the Boarding Gate
- When the Flight starts Boarding.
- After, look in to the Biometric Camera at Boarding Gate.
- At last, passenger will post system validation proceed towards the Aircraft.
