Every year we observe Indian Army Day on 15 th January. This year in 2023, the country is celebrating 75 th anniversary of Indian Army Day.
It is the day when Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa who was earlier a lieutenant General become the first commander in Chief of the Indian Army took the place of Last British Commander in Chief of the country, General Francis Bucher in the year 1949. And from there Parades, medal awarding and many other functions and observance are organized to commemorate the Army Day.
Having the motive of “service before self”, the Indian Army becomes the largest and the most crucial part of the Indian Armed Forces.
