RK Krishna Kumar, A Tata Veteran Died of a Cardiac Arrest at the Age of 84

Tata group’s veteran and Ex- Tata sons’ director RK Krishna Kumar died of a Cardiac arrest at the age of 84 in Mumbai on 1 st January, Sunday.

The veteran was also a trustee of the Sri Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sri Ratan Tata Trust, both the trust hold a total of 66% stake in Tata sons.

His incremation will take place at Chandanwadi Funeral parlor at 4:30pm on 3 rd January, as Tata group officials informed.

A veteran of Ratan Tata, was also called by the name of KK got retired in 2013 at the age of 75 after 50 years of working in various group’s firms. After this he vigorously started associating with RNT Associates and the Tata Trusts.

KK involved himself in the worldwide enlargement plans of Tata Global Beverages, currently Tata Consumer. Krishna Kumar was awarded by Padma Shri, country’s 4 th highest civilian award, in 2009 for his contributions to Indian trade and business.

Religiously inclined, KK was then also worked in the field of Philanthropic activities through Tata Trusts. Ratan Tata expressed condolence after KK’s death and said, even words can’t elaborate the deep sense of loss that he feel on the demise of his friend and colleague.

He will always affectionately remember the memories they shared both within the company and personally. KK was always a real veteran of the Tata group and Trusts and everyone will miss him.

The veteran leader KK made a huge contribution to the Tata Group over his allotted span. KK always seek to help the needy and under privileged and family influenced their living.

KK had won Ratan Tata’s Trust after flourishingly dealing with the crisis that took place in Assam in 1997 where some Tata tea workers were held captive by the group ULFA. He also backed Tata when the late Cyrus Mistry was started in October 2016 as Tata son’s chairman.
