International Mountain Day 2022: Every year on 11 th December we observe and celebrate International Mountain Day to raise citizen’s consciousness and cognizance of the importance of mountains to existence, atmosphere and aura.
The United Nation as General Assembly (UNGA) has announced International Mountain Day to value the significance of mountains. Around 14 to 16 percent of the Globe’s inhabitant lives in mountains, which also provide place to live in the region of the Earth’s habitat and biological diversities.
Although, at the present time in the world, mountains are in anguished need of conservation and protection due to the intimidation of climate change and overutilization.

The International Mountain Day be brought out in the year 2003 in the UN conference meeting on Environment and Development. “The UN leader’s resoluted that starting in 2003, December 11 would be celebrated as World Mountain Day Every year”.
The day has engaged in playing a crucial role in acknowledging the matter of mountain environment and has also influenced peak, touristy and travelers. Peak touristy has become really popular over the time. Travelers emote an aspiration or want to visit the mountaintops rather than the Marshlands or low- lying areas.
The theme for International Mountain Day 2022 is ‘Women Move Mountains’ that clearly indicates the Women’s Participation in Social and Economic development in Hilly Mountains areas.
