CBSE Migration – Adopting New Education Format 5+3+3+4 System From Session 2023-24

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to provide a instructions soon asking all education institution allied to it across India to get ready for a migration from the contemporary educational system to a more classified one as put forward in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, verging on a 5+3+3+4 system from the current 10+2 system.

According to the CBSE Chairperson Nidhi Chibber the board has agreed to make the migration from the upcoming school term or session. In Vadodara the inaugural function of the two- day 28 th CBSE national annual conference held.

It was being conducted only in collaboration with Gyan Sarovar – Central Sahodaya School complex (Vadodara) also, education 4.0 conference was attended with the theme of ‘Reinventing education for 2030 and beyond’. Nidhi Chibber told on Friday that CBSE board will soon issue directions for adopting the new 5+3+3+4 system of education for all schools instead of 10+2 as the principal function in the new academic term will be addition of the age group of 3 to 6 years in validated academic system.

Let us inform at present there are already several CBSE schools who are into this. These schools have their pre- nurseries and secondary schools. Now, the same terms will be applied to the authorized CBSE system as well.

Schooling into Four Stages

NEP had break the schooling into four stages

  •  First is preliminary stage for the age group of 3 to 8 years.
  •  Second is preparatory covering class three to five for the age group of 8 to 11 years.
  •  Third is middle covering class six to eight for the age group of 11 to 14 years .
  •  Last secondary stage covering class 9 to 12 for the age group of 14 to 18 years.

According to NEP’s documents to put an end to ‘high stakes’ features of board exams, each student is permitted to give board exams up to two times during any given year, one main exam and one for upgrading or enhancement of marks, if needed.

The second significant fact is the necessity of school registry, teacher registry and student registry with the help of these records it will be easy to track the improvement of these three resources in every part or stages of schooling.
